There are so many reasons that people forgo basic physicals and health screenings. Some feel they live a holistic lifestyle and think themselves too healthy to need a physical. High deductable insurance costs or fear of raised premiums if concerns are found keep others away. When was your last physical?
We believe that knowledge is at the center of one’s health care and if somebody does not know basic parameters of their health, then they are so much more likely to fall victim to health tragedies that didn’t have to happen.
Within the All Life Community, we operate from a six-domain model of integrative wellness: knowledge, beliefs, mind-body, biology, mechanics and energy. In an effort to help our greater central Ohio community balance out these domains, we are launching an ongoing community health screening initiative.
We hope to have these screening days offer basic physicals, vascular ultrasound, A1C3 blood glucose testing, eye exams, hearing screens, cancer screens, sleep apnea screens and more. All this will be done at the All Life Integrative Center, a setting where participants can also experience chair massage, acupuncture, reiki, sound therapies, nutritional resources and mini classes in mediation, relaxation, yoga and other health related topics.
We plan to offer basic assessments, services and classes for free or by donation. Some screens will be available at additional cost and we will have insurance approval information available prior to and during the event for even more screening possibilities.
The goal is to make this a regular bi-annual, or perhaps even quarterly, event to help serve people in being proactive about their wellness and health care.
